Lawrence County School System Pre-Kindergarten And Kindergarten Registration
The Lawrence County School System will hold registration for the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Programs on April 7, 2014 from 2:00-5:30 at the schools. Pre-Kindergarten students must be 4 years of age by August 15th. Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age by August 15th.
Pre-Kindergarten students must have proof of income at the time of registration. Proof of income can be in the form of Income Tax, pay stub, TN Care Verification, Unemployment Compensation, AFDC/Public Assistance Payment, Child Support, Social Security or Verification of Families First. State law requires all students entering school to meet certain immunization and medical requirements. The following information must be obtained prior to enrollment and presented to your child’s teacher or school nurse in order for your child to attend any Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten program in the Lawrence County School System:
- Certified Birth Certificate
- Immunization Records on Permanent Tennessee Certificate of Immunization TCA (49-1765-1769) available from health department or family physician
- Physical Examination (No earlier than August, 2013)
- Social Security Card is no longer mandatory, but is required for identification purposes (If Available)
Your child will not be allowed to begin school without required immunizations, health physical, and birth certificate.

Helpful Hints for Pre-K Registration
- Students must turn 4 years old by August 15. A certified birth certificate is required at registration to verify age.
- Proof of income is required at registration. Proof of income can be in the form of Income Tax, pay stub, TN Care Verification, Unemployment Compensation, AFDC/Public Assistance Payment, Child Support, Social Security, Verification of Families First, or Verification of family’s eligibility for Free/Reduced Lunch during the 2012-13 school year.
- Enrollment is limited to 20 students per class. Students will be randomly selected from those who meet income qualifications. Enrollment will NOT be first come first served. This is to insure that all children receive equal opportunity in being selected to attend Voluntary Pre-K.

Pre-K classes are located at David Crockett Elementary, Ethridge Elementary (23 Main Street, located in building beside Ethridge Child Care and Pre-School), Ingram Sowell Elementary, Lawrenceburg Public, Adult Learning Center (Brink Street), Leoma Elementary, New Prospect Elementary, and South Lawrence (607 North Military, Loretto). Summertown students should register at Ethridge.
